VISITOR INFORMATION

Centrally located in town, and at the gateway to Falls Creek and the Bogong High Plains region of the Alpine National Park, the Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre provides a wealth of information and advice from knowledgeable locals on things to do in and around Mount Beauty. The centre also boasts a fantastic little museum covering the history of the valley's First Peoples, settlers and the hydro electricity scheme.

MAPS, GUIDES & GIFTS

With a professional team of staff and local volunteers who are more than willing to share their passion for the place we call home, a visit to the official visitor information centre will ensure you get the most out of your visit to Mount Beauty and its surrounds.

The centre has a range of guide books, maps and information brochures, like the Cycle Guide and Walks & Trails Guide, and Alpine National Park trail guides, to help you find your way around Mount Beauty. It's also a great spot to purchase locally-made gifts and local produce, including wine.

THE MUSEUM

The Kiewa Valley Historical Society's interpretive displays provide a wonderful summary of Mount Beauty's history, starting with the First Peoples of the Country, the settlers, their social lives and farming equipment, and an overview of the Kiewa Hydro Scheme, including a hydro-powered working model. The museum has both permanent and rotating displays, so it's always worth coming back for a visit.
