For those who travel, you understand the feeling of immediately connecting with a place. It lingers in your mind and draws you back. It could be half a world away, the town you grew up in, or sometimes – if you are lucky – it becomes your home.
For Hatted chef Emma Handley, the place that called her back was the Kiewa Valley, where she now owns the newly established restaurant at Templar Lodge. The 1950’s building boasts spectacular views looking directly at Mt Bogong – a gentle reminder of Emma’s passion for her surrounds, translating through her food by using locally grown and foraged product, some directly from her garden.
Join Emma and Villa Gusto owner and wine aficionado Ben Edwards for a five course, matched wine degustation celebrating the region’s best wine, produce and talent, with ingredients like trout from Mountain Fresh Trout and Salmon Farm, olives from Mt Buffalo Olives and meat from Tawonga South Butcher.
